2026 WB3

For the 25/26 season, the Baja team started out the year at the SAE Baja competition in South Carolina. The team brought back fresh ideas on how to make the WB3 a competition ready car. The WB3 was designed and fabricated within the 25/26 year and will be going to Ohio to compete in the Fall of 2026.

The development of the WB3 started during the South Carolina competition. For this car, the team fabricated their own gearbox to deliver power for a RWD system in compliance with the new rules and regulations. The WB3 worked with a senior design team to design a suspension system that will be able to overcome the the challenging dynamic events at competition.

To keep the budget in check, drivetrain components were sourced from a 1999 Polaris Sportsman 400, providing low/high gear switching and reverse in a robust package. Complementing the drivetrain, the suspension is designed for 18″ of static ground clearance and is complimented by high-travel Yamaha Raptor shocks for maximum top speed performance.

2025 WB2

Wyoming Motorsports is returning to the SAE Baja competition for the first time in over a decade with a newly designed vehicle. Ahead of the October event in South Carolina, the team is focused on finalizing the competitor to maximize learning and build on for future competitions.

Fully designed in CAD, this latest spaceframe balances safety, ergonomics, suspension packaging, and an AWD drivetrain. In compliance with competition requirements, the vehicle incorporates a standard Kohler 440 cc engine and an AWD system, ensuring reliability and top-tier performance as a performance off-road vehicle under all conditions.
